NRL 2022: Payne Haas speaks, request for immediate release, Broncos contracts, Transfer Whispers, news, results Gold Coast Titans loss

Bain Haas revealed where he would like to play after speaking for the first time since the Broncos released his shockwave.

Bronze star Bain Haas spoke after being handed a shock release request Wednesday night.

Haas’ current deal of $800,000 a year hasn’t been enough for the Blues outlet, with his new management seeking $1 million this season and $1.2 million in 2024.

Negotiations soured resulting in Haas’ team handing over the order, which Brisbane power brokers flatly refused.

Now, the Broncos are hoping to retain their 22-year-old star after his exit and have explained that his first choice is to stay at Red Hill.

“I would like to stay,” Haas told the Daily Telegraph.

“It’s been really hard, they’ve been tough days to be honest.

“I came here (Friday night) to play against the Titans, and it shows that I am here playing for my teammates and club.

“That’s all that matters.”

According to News Corp, there is an opinion that Haas may exit the Broncos because his management is ramping up contract negotiations.

When asked if he would stay at the club for the rest of the 2022 season, Haas offered nothing.

“I don’t know what’s going on now,” Haas said.

“I don’t want to talk about release materials. I’m going to let my managers handle that aspect of things and hope they can work things out.”

In his team’s victory over the Titans, Haas had a night he will never forget, with boos from the crowd seemingly erupting every time he touched the ball.

Now, Haas management is set to sit down with influencer Broncos to solve the massive $3.2 million contract saga.
