A Queensland woman attacked by a koala on the highway | video

A woman has survived a serious injury after being attacked by an adorable koala on the side of the road in Queensland.

Onlookers captured the unfortunate confrontation on Thursday as the woman slowly approached the koala on a busy highway.

In the captioned video “Talking to a Bear That Fell Wrong,” the marsupial lunges toward the woman as she slowly greets the animal.

Onlookers can be heard saying, “This b***h is trying to talk after the koala… He’s about to take her day talking about him.”

The stunned woman lost her balance, and fell to the ground while the koala continued to attack her.

The video has garnered more than a million views, with many participating in their aggressive encounters with koalas.

One commented, “People have no idea how dangerous they are.”

Another said “Koalas are no joke, they are very territorial.”

The Queensland Department of Environment and Science recommends that motorists not touch a wild koala and report any infected animals.

However, if it is safe to do so, motorists can approach the animal from behind and place a laundry basket or towel over it before rescue services arrive.

“Put something heavy on top of the basket to prevent the koala from moving away and climbing up the tree,” the Queensland government advises.

“Be sure to leave the koala in a calm and stress-free environment.”
