Anne Heck, Ellen DeGeneres’ ex-girlfriend, was badly burned after the Los Angeles accident

Anne Heshe was involved in a fatal car accident Friday that caused a “severe burn” and “intubation” in the hospital, TMZ reports.

The disappeared actress, 53, was reported to have been driving her blue Mini Cooper on a suburban street in Los Angeles at noon when it crashed into the garage of an apartment complex.

According to the outlet, passersby tried to help Heche out of the car, but she allegedly propped up the car and drove off before it crashed into another house where her car caught fire.

It appears Heche may have been under the influence, as a bottle with a red cap was seen in the car’s cup holder shortly before the accident. However, the Los Angeles Police Department could not be reached immediately.

Aerial footage of the accident video obtained by Fox11 shows smoke rising from the house where it crashed.

Sources told TMZ that Heche is currently intubated in the hospital, but is “expected to live.”

The outlet also stated that “her condition prevents doctors from conducting any tests to determine if she is driving under the influence of alcohol.”

Heche, known for her high-profile romance with Ellen DeGeneres in the ’90s, has spoken openly about her past battle with drug abuse.

I drink. I smoke. I do drugs. I have sex with people. I did everything I could to get the shame out of my life,” she told ABC News in 2020, adding that her choices were the result of her traumatic childhood that stemmed from being sexually abused. by her father, Donald Hesch.

“I’m not crazy,” the Six Days Seven Nights star said at the time. “But it’s a crazy life. I grew up in a crazy family and it took 31 years to get the crazy out of me.”

Heche delegates cannot be reached immediately.
